I was really on the fence with this product. I knew I wanted a wireless fence instead of an actual fence, less to mow around and much cheaper. But I was worried about my stubborn furchild getting out of a wireless because of the experience I had with training her with a shock collar. It was like she felt no pain with that thing. But I ordered it anyways because I desperately needed one. It came in super quick, as always. Set up was super easy. Had it all done in a couple of hours. Side note: it's much easier to set your boundaries if you have help. I am terrible at visualizing distance and kept having to go back and forth to the system until I got the boundary lines where I wanted them in my yard. But I walked with her around the yard that afternoon and she learned immediately where she could and couldn't go and is doing great with it! I have the shock setting on as low as you can go and she still stays put. I think the beep before the shock really gets her, it's loud enough to scare her without having to shock her. Even without her collar she still won't go past the flags. It really has given me peace of mind that she won't wander off. I highly recommend this fence for anyone not wanting to deal with an actual fence. And it's portable if you move a lot or are somewhere temporarily.I wish I'd found this a year ago! What a great wireless dog fence system. Easy to set up and works as described. I was worrying because we moved to a new house and there is no fence around, and I have a high-energy boxer mix (70 lbs). I read the reviews and all the materials before installing or training. this fence took me a few hours to set up, I set the receiver and measured the boundary holding a collar and listening for the beeps. It took only once or twice of going beyond the boundary for them to figure it out. We are on our third day of training, and I take them outside 3-4 times a day and walk the boundary and praise them. They are a little freaked out after being shocked a couple of times, but I've been feeding them cheese while we are outside and squeaking a toy, and they seem happy and stick close to me. I hope with positive reinforcement they will start relaxing a bit more when in the yard. It's been wonderful not having to mess with leashes when I take them out to do their business. My big dog barked at a neighbor this morning and started running towards him, but I said "no" loudly and he stopped short of the flags without getting shocked. I'm so happy with this wireless dog fence system. This is my first time bought a wireless dog fence system. We used to have a In-ground electronic dog fence system which has a much cheaper price than this wireless one. It was working well, but my baby is too smart to contain by a piece of Boundary wire. She learned that when she close to the boundary wire she will be pulished but crossing it by a fast speed will be fine from few shocks. Therefore, wired dog fence system became useless to her. But this wireless one is totally effective, she will be pulished when she closes to the boundary and crosses over. Now, she has no way to run away.I know having my baby to be shocked is not a gentle thing, but having my baby running away and having incident is a unacceptable thing. Our dogs, one a midsize mixed breed and the other a young rottie would always run when we let them out. The mutt would go and chase animals and the other would just like to explore. We live in a neighborhood, but we love to let out dogs out to get fresh air and for them to do their business. The first night i put it up to test and show them the perimeter. They immediately understood their boundaries. I will say it is a little hard to get it set up at first and for some reasons the boundaries change and i had to reset it for some reason. So, i reset their collars and everything was set to normal. I highly recommend them and it is one of the best investments i have made.have no complaints at all, which is why I give it 5 out of 5 stars. If I can give it six stars, I would because of how much this system has helped me. My St. Bernard is so used to chasing bikers and walkers, and I'd have to get a hold of him just so it won't lose its way back to our home. That's mainly the reason why I bought this dog fence. Now, the beeping will give my dog reasons not to go over the boundaries and he has been a good boy since. It's been a while since we've used the system, and my dog has found another way to please himself and that's by playing with my kids instead of chasing our neighbors.I bought this unit for my 9 year old Golden Retriever. I have 1 acres on the edge of town and didn't want to fence it. I could not get him to cooperate together to show them the flags and the beeping collar when on learn mode. I also could not get anyone to help train them so it sat for a while .....I finally said to heck with it, put the collars on the first position that shocks and let the dogs figure it out. They did and it works great. I've been using it for a while and my dogs don't run off and they are not scared of having the collars put on. They love the freedom..... I recommend this product.I cannot say enough about this Wireless Dog Fence system! my dog has a thing for my farm animals, and unfortunately he has killed several. I have an ex-large German Shepherd who attacks my sheep and my mini horse. I put up a six ft fence and him still got out. I have tried everything but nothing worked. I'm not a person who gives up an animal I keep looking for solutions to contains him within my yard! This system is totally a livesaver! Now, everytime him head the beep sound from this collar, he will turn back immediately and know what's punishment for crossing over the boundary. Wish I would have found it sooner!!!!WOW. I was skeptical, as my dogs have been escaping the fence every.single.day. And I had a buried wire in the past that seemed to break a lot, and a dog that would escape anyway. But this completely worked!! Both our dogs - one old and one only a year - figured out the beep pretty fast. The "training program" they recommend is pretty exhaustive (30 days!) but I would say 3-4 days and these pets were good. They have not escaped yet - weeks in! - and I am so incredibly happy. They are too!
