It's sturdy but it had dripped from the liquid you add. Also the spoon doesn't really stay in the place it suppose to attachMy son has been very hard to pack lunches for. He has sensory issues and there are very few things he'll eat that aren't hot and I haven't found a thermos that keeps things hot enough for him & school lunches are never what he wants. He is also severely under-weight and just won't eat if he doesn't like something.Cereal is one of his go to foods. These are perfect. We've actually owned this for 2 years and they've held up great. He just turned 9 and still takes cereal at least 2x a week to school or summer camp in Sacramento 110 degree summers. Since we bought this (and we have 2 now) he's gained 6lbs. That may not seem like a lot over 2 years, but at 9 years old, he's 48lbs and is hard to feed.This has really been a life saver.Note: we don't the spoon that comes with it - I just send one of our spoons, otherwise, he has no problem pouring the milk into the cereal and it's still cold. He doesn't always eat the whole thing but he's eating and that's better than the alternative.The gel is a weird feature for the bottom part of the cup. I get what the intention is but it’s weird to just look at. The lid for the dry goods cup on top comes off so easily so if you dropped it or knocked it over the lid comes off and your food is everywhere. The spoon is also flimsy because of how it folds in half.I should have known by the colorsThese may be great for infant to small childBut the portion sizes will not suffice for a teen / adultThe gel - eh. Not really effective in keeping liquids cold but what can you expectNot very practical FOR MEif I had younger children / infants I thinks these would be great .Yogurt / granolaMilk / cereal (kept in fridge)Apple sauce and…. Whatever you eat with apple sauceIt really was the portion size that was the deal breaker for me -Hmmm I could bring the dogs some kibble and water - never thought of that-Anyway know that they ARE functional they just didn’t work FOR MY PURPOSEI don’t regret buying this because it makes bringing my breakfast on-the-go very easy and I’ve been searching for a product like this. I like that it’s compact and fits nicely in my lunchbox.Unfortunately, as the other reviews mention, the design is flawed. The milk being in the bottom compartment just doesn’t make any sense. It gets your cereal bowl wet and it gets messy. I wouldn’t mind having the milk compartment on the bottom, but I wish it had its own lid to protect the other compartment.Well after ordering, using for a week, and reading other reviews, I’ll say it may not be the “perfect” design but it’s pretty close. I agree with other reviewers that the milk would do better on the top but it’s only a minor inconvenience. The top lid is not secure enough to hold liquid up there but for the cereal it is fine. It has a plastic fold up spoon, which is a huge upgrade from those wooden spoons they put in those ice cream cups and it serves the purpose so no complaint there. I personally always pour the wrong ratio of milk in my cereal bowl and this has helped me get the ratio right. Like a ton of extra milk? Fill milk to the top and slightly under pour cereal. Like it just right? Under fill milk a tad and pour cereal to the max capacity. I use this to bring my cereal to work and the milk is really cold 2 1/2 hours later when it’s breakfast time. Haven’t tested longer than that but I imagine another hour or two would be cold at the very least.I eat cereal every morning, whether at school or work. This cup is great, however it leaks a bit in my lunch box. It’s not too troublesome so I still use it. Also, the spoon is a weird shape and makes it weird to eat from. And a big thing for me… there isn’t enough room for milk, for the amount of cereal it holds. I LOVE a generous amount of milk in my cereal. Oh, and my first one was damaged prior to packaging, the freeze gel leaked.this is good for yogurt but not for cereal not enough milk fits for cerealDoes exactly what I want it for.
