I use this to make smoothies and frozen drinks.ProsGets the job done.Simple toggle switches (yay!)Sturdy plastic container.Easy to cleanConsRequires a LOT of manual intervention to complete the mix. (I mean a LOT!)Air pocket forms quickly around blade assembly requiring scraping and adjustments to get a good grip on mix materials.Frequent burning smellsOverheats frequently (thankfully found this is a protected mode - so far has resumed once cooled)Container lid comes loose easily while mixing due to vibrationBlade assembly doesn’t appear to detach from containerPlastic helical drive systems always seem a bit suspectOverall what you would expect from a <$200 blender. Not the best, not the worst. Some blending tips with this modelIf you pack this unit with ice and frozen fruit + liquid it will never complete. It will also likely overheat without intervention.Start with a partially full container (1/4 - 1/3 full) and add ingredients as you make progress.Add additional liquid / mixer to start if that’s an option.Add more ice as you make it through the first stage.I have found that using the pulse (hi power) toggle in busts tends to yield good results once good grip is established with materials. The biggest drawbacks are the amount of manual intervention that is required to clear stalled or blocked mixes. It can be quite time consuming to mix a full pitcher of frozen smoothies - upwards of 5-10 mins with a lot of interaction required. This is not a ‘one and done’ hit the switch and get your result blender.I can’t imagine this model (BB300) would ever work for commercial applications, even low volume.Waring is known for their top end commercial blender products. Would love to try their high end blenders to see if they are as good as they used to be. Waring top end blenders can run at $1000-1500 or more. I’d need some better product reviews of those models to consider over similar Blendtec or Vitamix mixers.Waring is owned by Conair.RMA process was to return to local point of sale first Amazon purchases contact Conair directly. They offered easy replacement via shipping exchange.Unfortunately, the new unit isn’t going to overcome its design limitations so I suspect that the same problems would persist.
