It saves so much time on weekly prepGood portion size. Easy to remove food once frozen.I love this freezer tray, and am about to buy a second one -- but I do have a complaint. After being stored in the freezer, the tray gives off an incredibly strong freezer burnt smell. I don't know if this is how all silicone smells after being frozen, but it is extremely pungent. However, I haven't noticed the smell transferring to the food so I'm not incredibly worried by it.That being said, it is very easy to get the food out of these trays. I just turn the tray over on to the lid, and push the food out from the bottom of the tray. Voila! Individual cubes of baby food. I freeze a lot of food so I put the cubes in to little plastic baggies, then wash and reuse the tray immediately. I was also very surprised to learn that the item is nearly impossible to stain. I've stored beet, blueberry, and cherry purees in the tray that I was certain would turn at least the lid pink -- but nothing! Any food leftover on the tray or lid rinsed right off. It's been 4 months of constant use and the product looks brand new!I do wish Beaba would make a similar product with smaller portion sizes. The size offered is great for one sit down serving for an infant eating only one food at a time -- but now that we're branching out and introducing mixtures I would love to be able to make smaller portions of individual foods that I could mix right from the freezer. As it stands I have to either premix then freeze, and work with whatever I've mixed; or defrost very large portions and serve my baby the same food for two or three meals. A smaller portion tray would allow for more mixing flexibility. The Best On The MarketI was looking for a several good Ice cube Tray , in order to freeze what i need for making Excellent Iced Coffee In Granita Style !I have search and search on amazon and there are so many...AND THIS ONE'S ARE THE BESTAnd why ?Because it made from Silicone , it very easy to pull out the cubes , it does not receive odor as it has cover , it will never brake and it will lass for many years of use , it is much more comfortable then any other ice cube tray , and it is EXCELLENT for freeze stuff for Blender use .So for example:You purchase a special powder coffee which the coffee company's sale for Iced Coffee (it comes in a pack of 1 Kg) , and if you want to make it in a blander carafe of 1.5 Liter , then you take 250 grams of this special coffee powder and you mix it with around 50 ml of worm water. You freeze apart 1.4 Liter of milk in this Trays , and you also freeze around 50 ml fresh espresso , and then you put all in the blender and blend it.Viola - you have Iced Coffee same as in the restaurant without the need to use granita machine which cost $2000.00 USDYou can add Kalua Liqueur or Irish Cream Liqueur to the blender mix if you like.AS for the Coffee Powder:You have to contact one of the Coffee Company's like Segafredo Coffee , Or Lavazza Coffee Or illy Coffee , and all of them sale's powder coffee for Iced Coffee for Granita Machine. So you purchase it from them , and you use it in your blender in the way i described here above.ThanksI am so in love with this product! I bought one to make my infant son homemade baby food. Boy did I get my monies worth! At first I had trouble getting over how expensive these are. Then I realized when I'm buying the alternative, freezer-safe containers, they're occupied until we eat what's inside. That could be months! With this you could freeze hundreds of meals in that time. All you need are freezer baggies and a sharpie. After my son became toddler I started using it to make him homemade frozen meals. My favorite thing to make are sauces. I make them in my slow cooker, pour it in the tray to cool, then freeze. Walla! Individual portions of sauce. No more opening a jar for a single serving and letting the leftovers spoil in my fridge. I made many varieties of sauce. Alfredo, Pesto, Marinara, Meat Sauce, etc.) Now everyone can choose their own without dirtying tons of dishes. I also freeze casseroles, rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, baked beans. It's great too for any leftovers. If I open a carton of tomato soup I can pour the leftovers in there. The possibilities are limitless.I ended up buying two more (another beaba brand and an off-brand). I have to admit, they are VERY close. I can even interchange the lids. The biggest difference is that the silicone on the off-brand is a tad thicker. This makes it take a few minutes longer to thaw enough to remove the food from the tray. No big deal really but it depends on what's the most important to you.Save money and time and eat healthy! Buy this product and you won't be sorry.I was using these for freezing baby food, but what about when they are not eating baby food anymore? I make broth about twice a month for cooking and soups. Freezing in these has made the process so awesome! I can pour, freeze, easily pop them out a day later and throw them in a freezer bag. Better then ice trays because they are easy to pop out and are bigger portions. You could make ice pops for the kids in them as well. The only thing I didn't like was that I left one in the freezer a long time and now it has a horrible freezer smell. It doesn't affect the taste of what I freeze so it really shouldn't matter, but I'm just a snob and can't get the smell out no matter what I use!Update 8/8/15My toddler's out of the baby food stage, and I've been using these for ice cubes (and broth making). They still have that horrible smell, but it doesn't leave a taste in the ice so it's not a big deal. The blue version of these completely fell apart, though. It ripped just from me popping out some ice, and it just shredded into pieces. I really didn't use that one that much, so it was surprising. The green ones seem to be holding up much better. They feel thicker for some reason. The tops are NOT airtight, so I wouldn't leave the food or ice in them too long, or you probably will get that smell in the food.If this review was helpful to you, please give a thumbs up.I have bought one of every type of weaning tray and these beaba ones are the best! Once filled and frozen, you can easily pop a portion out and they are very easy to clean. I would recommend this completely and this is the only weaning tray which I have bought multiples of. The portion sizes are great, too big for initial weaning so I've just filled to half or two thirds full, which means they will last for some months.Perfect for baby food, mushed or chopped. I've ordered several different colours so I can colour-code the contents. The 1/4 cup size is great-for my 8-month-old - I pre-cook veggies to pop into scrambled eggs or mix one veggie pot with a lentil pot for a whole meal. The food pops out really easily. Plus it's BPA free and the silicone can withstand hot & cold temps well so I'm sure it'll last long.Perfect for baby food, mushed or chopped. The soft silicone makes it easy to "pop out" the food once frozen and then store in plastic freezer bags in handy baby-size portions until ready to use them. My granddaugther is 7 months old and we have been using them since she started her weaning programme - they enable us to batch cook food and we always have good, home-cooked food ready in moments!I now have two of these sitting happily in my freezer and would suggest all mums going through weaning buy at least one!My little one quickly moved on from little ice cube trays and these were perfect for us from about 6months and we're still using them now at 8 months - they are great portion sizes and easy to pop the food out when needed
